Here's what I have running around. Unfortunately I think I'd pass on him. Just thought I'd share with the team.

I have one grainy video of what could be a nicer one. I guess I've reached the point in my bowhunting "career" that I really need to something special. 160"+ is what I'm looking for.

So, now that we have the name and our "Russian Volunteer" Captain selected, what are everyone's plans for the season?

Myself, I am going to take about 5 days in the early season and try to get at least a doe on the ground. Any deer is a trophy for me right now, so I don't have to be picky. After that it will be mostly weekends, and a few Fridays. I will be hunting public land, so I don't have any trail cams out, and have to go with old fashioned scouting.

For the first year in many I won't be traveling. I'm keeping it local but have some solid properties that can produce. We'll see what happens.

That's fine by me as well.

My season is starting to look good. I picked up a 2013 Creed about a month ago, and I'm still getting her ready. I hunt about 2 hours away from school. On my lease, I have 4 stand sets this year as well as my lone wolf. My buddy and I both shot bucks last year, mine was never recovered. Here is his:

Trail cams went out a week ago and I will get them in two or three weeks. I know one big 10 and big 12 are around.

The stand I stuck a buck and doe out of last year is strapped in the same tree. I put my feeder back out for turkey's and planted a small food plot for the first time for the deer. We will se how it goes. This was the 13 day progress:

I will sit in this stand a lot, however I just found an old ladder stand (sturdy thick metal) that I inspected and cut lanes for. I'm extremely excited to sit here this year. It sits 10 yards off the edge of the corner of a bean field. To the east is a road that goes to the rivers edge 40 yards north. To the west is a funnel out of the woods which turns into some trails in front of it, and like I said to the south is the bean field.

I will be home to hunt the weekend following September 16th. I should have no problem sticking a doe on the first day.

I will also be traveling to western KS October 10-15 to hunt mule deer and possibly antelope. This will be a fun season with all of my new equipment and stands and trips planned.
