    Hey guys, first post.

Been hunting hard in SW PA and seeing lots of bucks, just not shooters. Finally tried a new spot tonight. Had a big 7 point come in, but was directly behind my stand. Watched it place a fresh scrape, pee, and then rub everything around. Started walking towards me. It took a few steps towards the right of the stand, so I positioned myself perfectly. A few steps later, he turned towards the the left and kept walking. I slowly turned to the other side, but when I got 3/4 around, I looked down and he was directly under me and staring up at me. He then backed out slowly and walked away. So, I clearly messed up. Should I have stood straight ahead and waited until he passed me? I haven't been faced with this situation. Thanks.

    Frustrated in Pa...

Welcome to the website! I've gone through the same situation almost every time I've went this year. They've decided they like the acorns around my stand. I don't even try to turn around and look whenever I have a deer close behind my stand because of the fear of them looking the second I do. When they're behind me, I try to stay sitting there solid(as solid as an excited shaking teenager can get)and wait for them to walk around in front of me. Good luck!

Dude, it's bow hunting. This kinda thing will happen. Don't worry. He didn't bolt so he probably thought you were a giant squirrel. He'll be back.
