Well until a few weeks ago I honestly didn't know the difference between Red Oaks and White Oaks but im am definitely proud to say one of my stands is hung in a row of White oaks that are producing. This makes me feel tons better about the chances of seeing some great deer this fall.

Yup they will eat on acorns from reds but white oak / pin oaks are the krispy kreme of acorns. I tasted them myself just out of curiosity. The reds are bitter compared to the white.

White oaks have a much shorter window than reds. You have to hunt them when they're hot, good luck!

Thanks for the heads up I've seen them hit on both but knowing the difference between the two makes me that much more confident about the spot im hunting
