Recently got back into shooting. Pick up a nice lil stinger 3g just to get things rolling and also to get back into the groove of things. Now it's been sometime since ive been in the archery/bow hunting game. So can someone help with a little advice as far as the difference between the low dollar arrows to everything else??? Currently shooting some basic gold tips 55/75 nothing special shooting at 65lbs. It seems like once i start shooting at like 40yds i can see the arrow spining out of wack a little.. Kinda weird.. Grouping at 25yds.
Higher weight tolerances, straightness tolerances, and overall construction. That being said, any "low end" Goldtip I have ever personally built and shot has been just as accurate or better than any high end arrow I have shot. IMHO, it's more in how the arrow is built, not who manufactured it.
Thank you for quick reply. Im just worried at the 40yd range.. On how the arrow like twirls seems bizarre. i have about 10 of them and they all do the same. Wether or not they are new out of the box or not.
How are you 40 yard groups? I honestly, have never seen an arrow shoot fine for 30+ yards then begin porpoising or spiraling. Not saying it can't happen, just nothing I have encountered before.
I can see them twirl a little bit not much at 20 yards. You can definitely tell at a longer yardage that they twirl. My groups at 40 are within a plate size. Not too horrible i feel like but i think some is of the arrows.. just not flying correctly
I shoot some what Carbon Express wallie worlds and cabelas hunter's. I can keep 6 inch groups a 40 yards with an old golden eagle predator. As stated above. Its a matter of quality. Kinda like a benelli vs stoger. Both shoot the same and just as reliable. With a $500 difference.
Spine tolerance is a bit different between low/high dollar arrows. It would follow that spine durability is also a bit different. Spine and the spine tolerance don't mean much to some folks and that's fine but it matters to others so they spend more.
I shoot carbon express blue streaks. When I very first shot my bow i was using the walmart el cheapos, there was a huge difference in how tight the groups are. Shoot out to 60 yards and see what happens. Like backcountry said, it's all about tolerancing and consistency.
Sounds like your bow is a little out of tune. Could be rest position, nock point position, mock travel to name some.
