I fully intended on hunting this evening, especially with the looming snow storm. Instead, I decided to take advantage of the rare lake conditions and go skating with my wife. Man it was cool! 300 acres of perfect ice. Some areas were so good, it was like looking down 6" of glass. You could see all the weeds below as you skated by. Kinda freaky. Anyways, we did the entire border of the lake in 20 minutes. You could fly out there. we averaged between 8-10 mph Here's a couple shots. Then we got the bright idea for some after dinner plans. Even talked the ol' man and my step mom into joining us for a suana and a dip. Gotta love trail cams
Awesome Fitz! One day when I'm done with all this Army madness....I hope to live on a lake and have my own property to hunt
Not much really, considering I live on a lake. But I do get out some. Crappies mostly, but sometimes.....
Looks like a really good time. Not so sure about the dip but, the skating and fishing part I know I would enjoy! Our lakes here never freeze. If they do, it's maybe an inch or two at most.
Here's some shaky phone video of us skating along...
Fitz, that seems like so much fun. Not to be weird or anything, but you and your wife look so happy together all the time brother. GOOD STUFF.
I won't go with awesome... I'll go with INSANITY. Are you out of your mind... jumping in that water? Hell, I bet you won't beable to pee for a week until the ice melts off your scrotum. LOL You're nuts I tell ya... nuts. Oh wait, they're frozen. That has to produce a mega dose of George Castanza shrinkage. As a side note.... did you pee in the pool? It would warm the water for those that follow you. A nice community gesture......or is that jester. LOL
Man stepping onto a frozen lake scares the **** out of he. Here it doesn't get cold enough to do that and if you step out on to a lake, there's a good chance you're going under. That's awesome though, I'm jealous, it would be awesome.
This is as close as I want to get to one of your winter plunges... a foot and half of ice and sunshine and no wind... temps in the 30s. NO.. it's not this year.. our ponds are frozen but not the lakes.
