NO ONE. In war you have battles. You win some and you loose some. Been kind of on both sides. It was one mission that took a lot of planning and research. It was all done by boots on the ground. Politicians lost the Vietnam war.... but they blame the troops and the cause in history. They make Jane Fonda a hero. Tell me Germ, who gets the blame? Exactly. It's just Obamas folks want to give him the credit for pulling the trigger. It's boots on the ground, win or loose. Obama is still a slug.
Thats right Obama did make the final call as the CIA informed Obama of the hideout back in August 2010.after investingating for months B2 bombers were ordered to hit the building then cancelled.Barack orders a ground assault because if Bin Laden is in there they would be able to reconize the body better than if the B2s bombed the place.No matter what anyone says Obama is commander in chief and made the call for our troops to go in and take him down.A job well done,gud work OBAMA,you did what others couldnt.
Has anybody else seen the info that we figured out some very important information from detaine(s) at GITMO while Bush was in office? If that's true I'd say more credit should go to that administration rather than the one that wants nothing to do with it.. A president would have been stupid to not sign off on this operation. Either way the most credit definitely needs to go to the troops and it's kind of a shame that we will likely never even know the name of the soldier that put a bullet in his head. Osama got a much quicker death than he deserved, that's for sure.
Hats off the the CIA for gathering the intel, the Army for flying in the SEALS and the SEAL for taking him out. Sadly SEALS get waterboarded in their training and are treated worse than the military prisoners at Guantanimo. I respect Obama for not bombing the piss out of the compound and getting the alleged body out of there for identification. This is the second time I have had serious respect for a decision involving our Military, the other was taking out the Pirates with SEALS in Somalia
Well said. This is how I view it. It's the administration and CIA's job to put our troops in a situation to be successful. When missions go bad, IMO it was not on a lack of effort from our troops. I feel the work their butts off on all missions. Some are just poorly planned and they pay the price. Our number one resource in this country is our armed forces. One thing I would always support is more money going to our troops and veterans. Yes Bush deserves an atta boy also.
You know I don't like to spread rumors, but I heard Jim Tressel knew of OBL's whereabouts a long time ago. He wasn't sure who he should give the information though. This could have been settled a long time ago.
Obama made a great decision and he should get all the credit in the world for it. That decision was to ignore and abandon everything he promised the tree hugging, birkenstock wearing, entitlement parasites on the left and continue all the policies George Bush set in motion to protect this country. If Obama and liberals had got what they wanted none of this would have ever been possible. Congrats to Obama.........EVERYTHING he has tried or done being true to himself has been a complete disaster. Hopefully he will learn from this that in order to accomplish anything positive he should just do the opposite of whatever he or his hippy supporters think will work.
Just the truth Germ.............feel free to correct anything false I write Obama won't show pictures of Bin Laden because it would hurt feelings among muslims.......yet he didn't care about AMERICAN feelings when he lifted an 18 year ban on photographing dead soldiers brought home from battle. Pictures of Abu Ghraib and US military accused of taking "trophies"???.........Hell ya!! post them for all to see.............anything to make the US look bad.......but a dead Bin Laden?? No-No.......we must be tasteful and not show the US military success in any way. Obama gave a Navy Seal a Court Martial because a terrorist got hit in the mouth during capture............he also wanted to pursue legal and war crime charges against members of the previous admin for using the EXACT same techniques that ended up giving him the intel he needed to get Bin Laden...........who got more then a fat lip from the seals Obama sent in...........will they get a court martial as well? Obama soothed the hippies with talk of closing Gitmo ASAP when he took office because of the horrors that he just couldn't stand behind as President. Guess he changed his mind...........thankfully, or Bin Laden would still be alive. Having said all that............now the crap is really starting to pile up fast in this mess. First he was in a firefight and used a woman as a human shield..........Nope Now there is talk from witnesses that he was taken alive and unarmed then executed in front of his family. The more the lies get exposed the worse this will get.
Alright Now I could list the same types of items about the last 4 Presidents. All I stated is he actually did what he said he would, which was a shocker to me.
