    Wow did we get this SOB?

    Edit, wow he's dead. Obama did what Bush could not.

    Edit thank you to our arm forces and those lost in pursuit of this monster.

    Tony he's the commander and chief. Like, dis-like he approves the missions.

    Like it or not Obama got him, Bush boxed him in, but Obama got him.

    I would have never guessed we would have got him with an Obama administration.

    Germ, I think your giving him a little more credit than he deserves.

    But the important thing he is dead, not that it will change anything but we did get him.

    Not at all, is he not the commander and chief? Have past decisions by former presidents let him off? Like Clinton? That mission came across his desk, he approved it. If he would not have approved it we would have blamed him. Correct?

    We cannot have it both ways, give credit where credit is due.

    For the record I am stunned we got him under Obama. I did not think he had the guts to approve a mission into Pakistan to get him.

    That mission has been in the works for years, not sure if it came across his desk as you say.

    But if it did and he had to sign off on it, I will give him credit, just as I did when he gave the go ahead to use snipers to kill the pirates.

    According to CNN this mission was in the works for a few weeks....and yeah the President did have to sign off on it...a decision that carried a lot of political risk in approving as there were so many things that could go wrong....I give him credit for having the balls to do it....I know many of you here won't.

    Huh? DID we get him? Admittedly I saw the special report and rolled over knowing that we the end result was a huge huge political SITA for the re-election campaign, but give me some proof. What proves we got him? Again, the above was the first and only thing that I've read this morning and I'm just a bit skeptical.

    Ok, he made the final call, I agree with you to a point. It was on his watch, and his call.

    Call it what you want

    GERM, Obama did NOT get him. Please stop spreading that stuff like it is somehow true. And Obama did NOT make the call. The "call" was made the minute Obama was linked to 9/11. He had an "open kill" policy attached to his name and face. Kill at will without authorization.

    You know who "got him"? The blood, sweat, and DEATHS of the heroic men and women of the US armed forces/CIA/Operatives.

    Obama signed off on the mission? - Since he was hiding in an affluent neighborhood in a country that is allegedly our ally- yes.
    Would he dare not sign off on it? - It would have been political suicide to not sign off.
    My hat is off to:
    1. All the men and women of the armed forces who have made the ultimate sacrifice;
    2. The special operations forces who went in and took bin Laden, his son, and a couple others without a single loss on our side during the mission;
    3. The men and women who continue to put our lives and freedom above their own; and
    3. The intel people who tracked him down through one of his couriers.

    Many on here WOULD have made that call. I am now asking everyone on here if they would have made that call. I bet 98% of the forum members on here would have made that call. In fact, "the call" was made 10 years ago by Osama himself. Obama made the ONLY call. Could you imagine if it would have leaked that Obama passed a chance to kill Osama Bin Laden (believe me it would have leaked). The results would have been impeachment and most certainly he would have not been re-elected. He made the only call, and he would have done it with our withou balls.

    I think you guys are reading into what Germ said a little too much. You guys are acting like he said Obama was the one that fired a bullet into Osama's head.

    He added the Obama vs. Bush for a little of this --> :poke:. You guys took the bait way too easy.

    Remember this? They could have had his arse just months after 9-11...

    "The Bush administration has concluded that Osama bin Laden was present during the battle for Tora Bora late last year and that failure to commit U.S. ground troops to hunt him was its gravest error in the war against al Qaeda, according to civilian and military officials with first-hand knowledge."

    He's dead. Thats all the matters. The SEALS executed as they needed too. I kind of need some concrete proof though. Kind of surprised they already dumped him at sea. I'm sure some photos will be released eventually.

    Let's put this one to bed. The democratic spin doctors will try to make the historical records show that Obama took Osama down. The republican spin doctors will try to make the historical records show a democrat (Clinton) had an opportunity to take Osama down but didn't have the fortitude to do so. The real historical record will show that the blood of many people from many nationalities is what really ended the life of satan's left hand. Let's come together and remember those who are not here with us today due to this evil person's deeds and rhetoric, not him, or how he died.

    It's a shame a thread like this even occurs following such a historic event in the War on Terror.
