My son and I did some stand prepping this week. For the last couple of years it has usually been just me trimming, maintaining and setting up stands. My son went through a stage where hunting wasn't high enough on his list of priorities. Although, Chicks, Football and partying with his buds were!

I didn't push him either. If he didn't want to hunt, I wasn't going to pressure him. He's starting to come back around and realizing what he's been missing.

We had a great time and got 6 stands ready so far. We're both excited for the season to begin.

A look into the guru's honey hole! Nice. Good think you had blue jeans on, I wouldn't have found you.

Nice Greg, looks like a great father/son day. I have some stands I have to get myself.

I've been getting some spots ready as well.

Good to see that your son is getting interested in hunting again.

Hopefully he will stick with it.

Looks like a good time. I just finished up yesterday. I just need to go in and rake on path for a particular stand, but I'm good to go I believe.

Wuss stand. You'll be lucky to see a doe out of it.

I like the way you handled that long pole. You can tell a lot about a man by the way he holds his pole.

It was 85 and sunny. I should have got out a week earlier when it was barley hitting 70. These high temps are for those in a more southern climate!! Us northerners prefer temps where we can work outside comfortably in a long sleeve flannel shirt!

I'd be pissed if I saw a doe out of it.......that's my buck stand!

You're right about handling the pole! Some of us are burdened with all that extra weight, but you get used to it. ;)

Greg, how high is that stand, just curious. I ask because last year I came down from the treetops to get better shot angles and now I like to see where everyone stands are at...height wise.

The stand with me in it is only about 15 feet max. I only go as high as I need to go to get the shot. Although I prefer to be at least 18 to 25 feet, I have stands that are as low as 9 feet all the way up to 28 feet.

Peak, those stands are Wis. stands.

Thanks Greg, I use a climber 99% of the time so I do not get to take full advantage as you have in the picture. I stayed 16 to 18 feet all last year, and saw my best buck from about 10'.
