The season starts September 26th here, and im almost done with all my stands. I would have preferred to have finished before September even began, but thats just not possible with work/school/department. Heres one of my setups thats in a creek bottom: That stand is going to be perfect for early season doe hunting, especially with a west/east wind. Their are trails carving that creek bottom up. This is what passed by when i had my cuddeback there earlier this summer: My second setup of the day was my ladder stand, which i hung on a trail leading to my alfalfa fields: View from the top: Some of the targets from this stand: Im pretty confident that both of these spots will get me some shots at does in the early season, and hopefully on video as well.
Caleb, I'm on your team on 2 different websites. If you shoot that buck, I'm going to cyber slap you! :D J/k bud , looks like a good location. Good luck to you, but I hope Freakdaddy is the first buck you see from that stand. :D
Looks good, I hope you get some good production out of those stands! Sept. 26th will be here before you know it. Season doesn't start until Oct. 1st for me and I won't be able to hunt until Oct.3. Good luck this season!
looks great Siman, I'm headed out here in a few to hang my last set... in a PINE... I dread it, but its the only available tree, and I feel it's in an awesome funnel.
Good job. It sure helps to be prepared. I've had years where I slacked in stand prep. It really sucks. This year I scored a 10/10 in the prep department. I hunted this weekend and it was really nice being totally prepared. BTW, are you sure that is an alfalfa field? It looks awful "grassy". Could it be a brand new planting or possibly a field at the end of it's cycle? The reason I ask is because this is what alfalfa looks like where I hunt in Wi.......
Good looking stand sites....I too was curious about the alfalfa. Hope you smack a big one on footage this year!
Simans looks like it was once planted in clover but hasn't been reseeded in a while. Looks pretty much like a hay field to me.
Unfortunatly he is going to be filming himself most of the season, because his cameraman( me) is restricted to the ground blind because of my recent knee surgury. Atleast till mid november.
Good luck Caleb, those look like great set ups. Just be careful hunting those creek bottoms. The wind can be awefull tricky down there. That's why the deer like to travel in them, it gives them the edge.
Very nice. Looks like you have some good setups picked out. I would like to try a creek bottom set, but I have no creek bottoms
