Na.. you certainly did not miss it.

It's been weak this year due to the standing corn. But it's still going on.

Probably have another 10-14 days before it dies for the most part.

Like Duke said, I think it's all going on in the corn fields this year. They have no reason to leave the corn. I have seen a few bucks chasing does this year but not like it should be.

Rut has been about as bad as I can ever remember. One variable in my area...standing corn. Acres upon Acres of a corn forest. This week isn't helping the farmers either..just got another inch and half of rain.

Isaiah and I went out two weekends ago and witnessed something we aren't sure we'll ever see again. Bucks out every hour, on the hour, two buck fights, a huge chase (3 bucks chasing a hot doe)! There was so much action, it was unbelievable! Although we weren't able to get a shot, it was just amazing to be out there with all of that going on only yards away from us. We went out again last weekend, hoping to see more of the same....and I didn't see ONE deer on Saturday. Have to admit, I was a little disappointed. So I really hope that you guys are right in saying the rut isn't over in IL - looking to get out there Thanksgiving!!

Here in Iowa they seem to be in the lock-down phase. They should again start searching for last chance does for another week or so.

Been like that in a lot of areas - slower than normal....

With all the crops still in, could be some real slammers walking around next year!
