So today was my second time out. I went in the woods before daylight. I was using a green headlamp and as I was approaching the place I wanted to set up, I saw what appeared to be a large set of eyes just staring at me. I am 99% sure it had to have been a deer and it looked as if it was laying down. We have no other animals in the state that size.

I setup my stand about 30 yards south, but I never saw a deer for the 3 hours I sat there...

Maybe, but if your not used to walking into the woods in the dark you would be surprised how your eyes can play tricks on you.

hard to tell if it's a bed without looking at at the spot where it was during daylight. or if was even a deer.

If it was Bigfoot, you are required to take fuzzy pictures. Go back and check the place in the daylight. Heard of guys who spot bedding sites and hunt close by in the morning.

Ditch the green light. Go with a red one.

I use a green laser pointer to move the deer off if they will not leave at dark and I am stuck in my stand.

When people see eyes in the woods they don't always tend to connect them to side prey or front preditor.
