I am thinking about buying a Diamond outlaw but was wondering if anyone has had any problems with them or knew someone who has. Thanks.
A Buddy of mine bought one this year and seems to like it. A lot better than my first compound and I killed deer with it! I personally havent shot it more than 2-3 times.
Last year I bought a Diamond Fugitive and I love it. I think the Fugitive is one step below the Outlaw. I haven't had any issues with it and its a great price.
Note: I have never shot the outlaw. That said, I think it is one of the best deals on the market. If you like the way it shoots you'll be hard pressed to find a better deal. It shoots just as fast as a Z7. My brother has an old razor edge and he dropped a buck at 30 yards (first buck kill ever, perfect shot placement). The bow is years old and is a tank. He had a problem, we couldn't get it to tune at all. We had it at a shop and they spent hours messing with it to no avail. They sent it back to bowtech and they adjusted it back and it works great. Plus they did it all under warranty. When I bought my z7x I swore against bowtech due to negative customer care reviews. Last week I traded my z7x in on an insanity.
Bad news I loved my Diamond Outlaw. Great bow. I bought it at Bass Pro in the spring of 2013. This morning I was turkey hunting from a blind. I was limbering up (with an arrow nocked). I drew back and the bow blew up in my face and the arrow went thru the side of the blind. Fortunately it only gashed my cheek and didn't get my eye. I have no idea why but even if they replace the limbs I am going to be shy of using it again. This bow isn't even a year old. Back to Bass Pro I go this morning. End of my turkey hunting for this season.
PS on Bad News. I took the bow to the shop. Here is a caution. Check the module and draw stop screws. They have a tendency to back out. In the case of my "blow up", the module screws had backed out leaving a space between the module and cam. The string was slipping into that space and was cut enough to make it break, thus my problem and a wrecked season of turkey hunting with my bow. Knowing this, I am keeping the bow but will probably use some thread lock on those screws and of course I will check them before use. I do love the bow and it is a great buy for the money.
I purchased one of these from Bass Pro Shops, took it to the range and noticed the above had happened. I also noticed the string stop was abrading the serving to the point the serving was hanging off the bow above and below the abrasion about 4" of string. This is because the string stop is a very narrow gauge of about 1/8" as opposed to my PSEs about 1/4". I returned the bow.
