does anyone know some real numbers on the diamond outlaw. i know it says it shoots 330 fps but we all know when you use em in the field they all shoot slower. right now im shooting 63 lbs a 28 in draw with a 403 gr total weight arrow (includes broad head, nock and insert). could anyone give me an idea of how fast im shooting or what your shooting with a similar set up?

I would tend to agree. Closer to the 265 mark.

if you go to a lighter arrow that will raise speed a lot. My IBO is 331 with the Bowmadness and i shoot the VAP arrow at 344 grains at 307fps through the chronograph.

Just curious why do you need it faster? 63 will easily take down a deer.

Right now I went with a heavier arrow to make sure wouldn't damage my bow. The reason I would like a little more speed is I would like to try a broad head like the grim reaper but I want to make sure I have enough to get the pass through. The guy at my pro shop said it takes a little more to push broad heads like that through. I appreciate everyone's feedback. Any thoughs or suggestions?

Speed isn't the determining factor in a expandable getting a pass through. Kinetic energy is more important. Some of the guys on here also talk about momentum.

I know from recent test with my bow I was shooting a heavier arrow to produce more kinetic energy with my bow at 70lbs and 27and a half inch draw my speed was slow but my k.e. was much better somewhere around 80ftlbs which was really good for my bow .

I remember hearing Ted Nugent say he had his bow on 40lbs. . Then he shot a deer and made a clean pass through at 40 some yards! :D

To get the IBO...you gotta shoot 70lbs. 30" draw length and 350 grain arrow. I would shoot a heavier arrow if you want more penetration.
