    Im with ya.

When I see cold weather on the forecast, I sometimes plan other activities. Nothing worse than sitting still in a stand when its 10degrees out, with wind and no sun.

I tough it out if I'm on a good deer. Aside from that, I dont hunt in poor conditions unless Im extremely confident that I'll see a shooter.

10 above ?? Some of the best hunts I have had... have been 15 degrees on the south side of zero on quite a few hunts in the past winters. Our deer move good during crappy weather or really cold weather. While I won't shoot a deer in a heavy down pour... I will hunt in one waiting for a 5 - 15 minute break in the rain or it ends the last half hour of the hunt. Sneak into a bedding area during the heavy rain/snow and you would be amazed how close you can get to the deer or how fast they get up to move when the rain ends or slows down to a drizzle.

Sorry Ryan... to answer your question...

I really enjoy a hunt it if I get a deer within bow range. Somedays it is just nice to get away from everything and it doesn't matter if I see deer or not but for the most part... I want a deer in range at least and am not happy if I can't make it happen.

I love the scouting/plotting of my hunts so I get the most enjoyment out of setting up in the right spot. I want to feel the heart race. With ground hunting it gets exciting and intense. I will endure heat, skeeters, rain, snow, sleet and frigid cold to get that feeling. I don't have to kill something... just have them close to get fired up. It's not just deer but all the other critters too... well except moose during their rut. I setup for a deer hunt in a catttail slough watching a trail running along side it. The wind was just nuts that day so I snuck into the spot not worrying about getting busted. I had a bull moose unkownly bedded not 15 yards from me. He got up... took a drink. When he walked into my shooting lane and I finally got to see what was making all the noise... that was more then I asked for !!! I was thinking big buck up until he walked into my shooting lane. The heart was already pounding... it pounded even faster and for quite some time after he left the area !! That was intense !! LOL
