I was hunting the woods across the street this morning. I looked up at one point and here comes a spike buck walking along in the creek. I picked up my bow and the arrow falls off the string and clanks on the treestand. He perked up but never spooked or saw me. He just continued on in the creek a bit then turned out where I had entered and walked on. Have you ever seen a deer use a creek like a trail? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
My brothers stand in WI overlooks a creek. They walk up & down it in that location. Many (many) deer have died in that creek...
Creeks are like deer highways around where I live, problem is that most the big boys won't make it that easy for ya. I see alot of does but never and big bucks, the big ones seem to like the HEAVY cover around here
Only ever seen one deer walk down a creek and it was a small buck trailing a doe that must have passed late in the night.
My buddy whacked an eight pointer walking through a small creek on our property that was getting harrassed by a spike. Another buddy whacked the spike the next evening. First I have heard of them walking down and not just crossing.
My best stand is literally above a little creek, its usually just a few puddles though. My best friends stand is in a creek bottom littered with trails. And ive had most of my deer die in or around creeks.
I've seen many deer walking through creeks. I think it makes them feel secure with the usually higher ground on each side. Blessings.......Pastorjim
