Deer Kill Two Dogs, Injure Several in MontanaSee More News 6/24/2009 A mother doe with its fawn is extremely protective and can become aggressive to animals and humans during the summer months while fawns are still small. Aggressive does have killed two dogs in Helena, Montana in the past few weeks, prompting a police warning to residents with dogs. Overprotective does with their fawn killed a dachshund and 3-month-old Yorkshire terrier. The doe that stomped the Yorkshire terrier was also believed to have broken a schnauzer’s jaw. The doe was captured and put down. “Be careful. The does are really protective of their fawns right now,” Troy McGee, Helena police chief, told the Helena Independent Record newspaper. Complaints have stemmed from all over town. A pug suffered from lacerations on its head after an encounter with a doe. McGee warns all residents to keep a close watch on dogs in their yards and to exercise caution while walking them. http://www.whitetailjournal.com/ArticleContent.aspx?id=1622
Explain? We have one post talking about how a fawn being beaten to death is okay because if it was a squirrel nobody would care.... now we have one about how a deer is in the wrong for doing what it is born to do? If that fawn has no more importance than a squirrel then why should a dog have more importance over a deer? Seems like a little contradiction there!
If your dog can be killed by a deer then maybe you shouldn't be stupid enough to let it bother deer. The dumbass dog owners should be the ones getting kicked in the head LOL.
We had a very similar incident here in Va a few weeks ago. A deer apparently attacked 3 different people. It was also put down. This is all I could find on the matter. :D http://www.topix.com/forum/city/dublin-va/TPDKRKT2BCJQCTDPP
it was a dachshund and yorkie... you could roll over in your sleep and accidentally kill either of those... stupid beyond words why that deer "had" to be put down
