Thanks PT! 44 mag, 200 gr XTP. Doe #1 dropped in her tracks with a high shoulder/base of neck shot. Doe #2 ran about 50-60 yds depsite her heart being literally blown in half. Blood trail looked like a horror movie. Both shots about 35 yds, maybe 40 tops.
One more to keep the good Preacher happy Dropped this doe at about 35-40 yds. High shoulder shot put her down for the count. It was a long cold day, and I was really happy to take one on the last day of our regular gun season.
Another one for the Sorrento clan. I shot this "doe" this morning after my nephew did a one man drive to me. Probably jumped this deer about 1/2 mile from my stand location and it came to me at about 40 yards. Double lunged "her" with the Encore in 20 gauge. "She" ran about 50 yards and piled up. She became a he, when I recovered. It was a buck with his antlers broken off at the bases. Long body and good size deer. Not sure how old, but Preacher Tony and I think it may be a 2.5 year old...
Sal, Post up David's last deer ... it needs to get on here ... BTW, It looks small in that pic .... I know it isn't as I seen him .... you have another pic of him?
Tony, Yes I had a scope on the SBH last year, but when I got the contender I took the scope off the revolver and just practiced more to be capable of a 50 yd shot.
Nice deer folks! I am hunting 2nd season here in IA with late season muzzle loader right after my favorite!! I hope I have half the luck as you folks. Thanks for sharing. I never get enough of deer pics! Lots of memories I am sure.
Doesn't that feel awesome, Atlas?! Congrats! Man how I miss my property!!!! Oh yeah ..... nice hat!!! Lol
My nephew David's 3rd kill this year (Bow-8 point, Shotgun-2 doe). I call this the Chris Farley doe (distasteful, I know, but if you have ever seen his death photos you will know why I thought of this immediately upon seeing this deer).
Back at it for the 1st time in about a month. Nice doe came running by, but kept stopping behind trees. Finally she stopped in a small opening & it was done. She went to the Hunters Sharing the Harvest program
