You made it abundantly clear how you felt in our convo. I was just wondering other people’s thoughts

Often, late season, for various reasons, I don't want to kill a deer on mine.
If I have an open tag late season, it's SO EASY to find miles of riverbottoms to hunt. An hour on the phone calling people (landowners) is a 9 outta 10 Yes.

    Try it guys.

It was the hunting style at camp for many years guys/ gals would be chosen as standers and position up hill then a line of staggard guys would walk the bottom and push them up hill out of cover. Standing on ridge top watching walkers below was wild for deer education. What broke and when, what layed flat and allowed the pass. What would lay flat and dbl. back. A few would literally follow walkers keeping a distant eye on them.

My first archery buck was killed on a drive in zone 8c in NY. I forgot my steps so could only put my treestand about chest high and pulled myself up. Quartering slightly towards me at 7 yards. Ran about 50 yards . It was the day before the gun opener. Fun stuff.
