If you worried about what is considered legal (baiting, plots, Exc...) Perhaps you could try and create a bedding area. Make a small clearing and plant some sort of grass that will grow taller than most and create heavy brush all around it with a couple of openings. Who knows it may just work that the deer use it frequently. The key of coarse would be to stay out of it at all times.. no scent even around it.
This explains it as I thought I was going nuts. I must admit iv'e seen threads locked but posts deleted this is a first. You have a lot of threads to go through then if this is the route your going to take. :-)~
