I did not see one deer yesterday on a stand that I usually see deer in. Is it possible the shotgun hunters spooked everything already? I froze my butt off all day yesterday to see nothing. On the bright side the woods had a nice frost on the and it was a beautiful day. Now down to business. I hunt an area that has timber, a swamp, and cut ag fields. With little cover in the timber I would think the deer are in the swamp in some of the tall grass. What would your approach be to this situation? Would you stick to the timber? hunt over the cut ag fields? or hunt the edge of the swamp?
I went out last evening and didn't see a single deer on stand either. But I did see 14 does on a corn field not far from where I hunt.
