I once heard that deer don't like to move a whole lot in wind, and was just wondering if this holds true with the times you have hunted the wind?
I'm not sure but I'm sittin right now and I had 3 does pass by at first light and now the wind is blowing like hell and I havent seen squat since it started
While a very windy day may supress movement some over the course of one day, deer still need to eat and drink. They may hunker down a bit, but prime times are still prime time.
I literally just came inside from a hunt. its approximately a 12 mph wind with gusts up to 20ish. Had 3 does walk underneath me and i was in an oak tree along a river in an open meadow. The wind didn't seem to bother them too much
I think some of this "deer don't move in the wind" talk, is related to the fact the deer walk by without the hunter hearing them. lol
We are having gust to 18 mph. I got a small buck this morning. And my buddy seen two does and a buck. Did not affect our area or deer. Today anyway, not saying the next day with wind it won't.
