This might be a dumb question. Are deer spooked by squirrels running through the woods? Ive been in the stand all day and have 2 squirrels running all around me. Would that make the deer scared?!

In some cases yes and some no. I've had deer come into an area where they are very cautious and when they hear a squirrel running qround they calm back down. I have also had deer relaxed then a squirrel starts chattering loudly and frantically running about and it spooked the deer a little. In a way they look out for each other so they can alert them if there is danger or not. All in all i don't think they do too much damage.

Good observation, actually a squirrel will help you out if you listen to them, they'll tell you when something is aproaching and tell you with there verbal chatter. Mind you in the winter this is better as there out foraging for hid food. There cazy with their chatter then.

I think an already skittish deer will not tolerate the noise for very long. This morning I had a doe come out, wind hasn't started yet so my scent was probably wafting a bit. At the same time a squirrel must have gotten cold overnight because the 1st hour of the day it was grabbing leaves that had not fallen yet and stuffing its nest. Every time it would rip leaved off the doe would flinch and about spook. She finally had enough and went back where she came. Even the 4pt. in toe would flinch.

Same can be said about turkey and a deers tolerance. Have seen turkey walk past bedded does and they laid there. Once the turkeys started scratching, putting and being obnoxious the does got up and relocated.
