    Yes:busted:

There are three distinct regions in MI. One being the SLP it's not as hard to shoot a 100'' deer than it is on the NLP. Just like any other state I am gussing. It's not as black white as the aurthor is describing.
Do you not agree more 100'' deer in MI get shot than 170''+ deer in Iowa? This is the point I agreed with Grizz on. More 100'' deer are killed in the states he listed then 170'' deer in the others.

Not that it's easier or harder, just the fact more 100'' deer are killed than 170'' deer.

The funniest thing about this statement is it has NOTHING to do with the deer...........deal with it. Guys don't take pictures and get mounts done and pay to get into a "record book" to honor or respect the animal..........it's 99.9% "Look what I killed, I'm a badass hunter".......if it truely wasn't then statements like this wouldn't bother anyone.

It's EXACTLY why no one gives Tiffany Lakoski the credit she deserves.........because she is living proof that it's all bullsh!t............all the glamour talk about ghost bucks and these magical cunning, uber-intelligent creatures engaging in a battle of wits chess match with us as hunters is just plain ego inflating garbage.

The truth that no one ever wants to admit is that the deer in the woods will dictate what is on a hunters wall.

The above bolded statement is not up for discussion in general..........if you want to bicker about the specifics of the number of inches have at it but anyone who denies it is easier to kill a larger buck in some states then others is crazy or lying to protect their ego.

Not sure why but It's impossible for some guys to deal with this fact of life.

Yes, but as I stated it's not a state comparison, but a comparison of heavily hunted areas possibly lacking in genetics to an area managed for good genetics light hunting pressure and age. Everyone is getting wrapped up in the state comarison when that's not the point.

An example, we all know that IL has big buck potential. Yet, our very own Dukemichaels and Justin travel 6 hours to hunt a small parcel that they lease. This indicates that not all parts of that state hold equal opportunity and they do not have the same hunting pressure as a MI or PA.

Besides, I like busting your chops.:whip:

P&Y is all the same. Each state may have differences for their own "awards". Here, in Iowa, it is 135" for bow and 150" typical for firearms.

i agree with his statement like others i beleive he used extreme examples.
where i hunt just getting a buck is a major accomplishment, yes there are a few biggins and our body size is huge.
but you take a deer that must survive through 2-5' of snow all winter scratching for crumbs to survive and compare that to a buck that lives on a farm down south and it's apples and oranges.
if any buck walks into my stand he's dead, nobody gets a free pass. then again many years i come home never seing a single buck.
