What's the oldest deer you've taken?

In general, it is assumed that captive deer have the ability of living between 15 and 20 years - depending on why they're in captivity.

Wild deer, on the other hand, tend to live much shorter lives with bucks averaging 2.9 years and does averaging 6.5 years (according to the University of Wisconsin).

I remember a few years back seeing Catman post a photo of a doe and teeth that he harvested at 14.5 years old. Curious what other people are aging deer at.

My oldest buck was my first ever when I was 15 years old. It was a 4.5 or 5.5 in the hardwoods of northern Marinette County near Athelstane. Thousands of acres of public land in those parts. I was hunting what is now owned by the Wausaukee Club.
