Well I did see deer on my first sit of the new season. I had 4 does and 3 fawns come down off the hill around my stand tonight. The problem is they had me surrounded. I literally had deer on 3 sides of me. I was trying to film myself hunting tonight, that along with wanting to make only a perfect shot and a quick kill while I am hunting in my subdivision, I never loosed an arrow. I had a couple of iffy shots on cam but decided not to pull the trigger and have to track a deer across a bunch of yards tonight. Finally one of the old does spotted me moving to reposition for a shot and off they went.

I hate when you get so close, and just can't make it happen... but that's why it's called hunting... Atleast you weren't bored!

Aren't those first sits of the season still the best though?

Sounds like a good sit to me. I think it was sound judgement on your part. There will be another day. Thanks for sharing.

Sounds a lot better than here, our season doesnt open for another 16 days. I'm envious and can't wait to get into the stand.

That happens to me quite a bit it seems. I always have a knack for picking stands that the deer sort of disperse around. At least you're seeing deer the first night in.

I agree with my fellow hawkeye brother. Things will get better. If bowhunting was easy then there'd be more gun hunters doing it. LOL

Sounds fun! I had two fawns come by at 10 yards then a buck came in on my blind side and fed there until I could no longer see my pins.. Climbing out of a tree in pitch black is never fun..he'll be back though

Oh yeah, he would of put us in the lead too:evilgrin:

Seems like when theres 2 or more old does they can bust you almost everytime. Keep at it, they'll eventually slip up.
