    Hi guys n gals
I know that decreasing draw length will affect what spine is required. What negative effects would come from shooting a longer arrow and shorter draw length? Eg. Going from a 29inch DL, 70lb to a 27inch 60lb. Would my arrows that are 6075 cut at 28.5inches be too long. According to most of the charts that set up would be overspined ( especially if I was to cut my current arrows down to 27inches). Now in saying that, if new arrows are purchased in the lighter spine 5565, would cutting them longer be detrimental to the set up? I guess I am asking for KE purposes, along with the fact that drawing 70lbs after sitting for 3 hours in the freezing tundra just flat out sux.
    Thanks
    Reese

As long as you still tune your arrows and your rig, the only down side would be a slightly slower arrow. For me, I'd take better KE over speed 9 out of 10 times. But I'd rather have a shorter arrow with a heavier head, just so I don't have the extra length to deal with in the woods.

I don't think it's a big deal either way.... unless I'm completely missing something?

You can play with Easton's program and find out. I'm betting your shafts will have too much spine dropping the 10 pounds and one inch. Cutting the shafts will aggrivate the spine issue unless you go with a heavier point.

    Good question
    Good luck
