One small piece of timber I can hunt has pasture ground on two sides, a heavy grass bottom with pond on the third and a dirt road on the 4th. In the center of the timber is an open area with 2' grass that drops off on 2 sides that is the middel of a ridfe from the dirt road to on into the pasture area. The timber area covers about 8 A. Would it be best to put up decoys in the center open spot or at one of the edges away from cattle feeding activity? Have heard birds in the timber but have not spotted any yet.
