I was under the impression that the new laws in NY said that any mag over 7 rounds would be illegal, and people would have 1 year to turn them in or sell them out of state?
Then there should have been no need to arrest him at all since he could still legally be in possession for up to a year? Who knows, glad I don't live in NY. This is what we get for trusting our country to idiot politicians.
Some information for you who don't know... Jefferson County is Watertown, NY.... where Fort Drum and the 10th Mountain Division is. They're discussing how or what to cut back to meet new cuts being proposed. If this is the way the town treats the GI's... well hell, why not leave. They won't.... but it makes you think. The base has been a God sent to the area economy. It's never ending growth to what other wise would be depressed.
I agree. There needs to be "probable cause" Doesn't NY already have a mag limit in place (maybe 10) before the 7 was passed? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk 2
I thought the same. Quick digging revealed what I think are some holes in the story we're not hearing. http://www.snopes.com/politics/guns/haddad.asp
The magazines he had were post ban (94' ban). NY never lifted the 10 round max ban in 04' so the only 10+ round magazines you can legally have in NY need to be manufactured before 94. This guy would have been arrested for the same exact thing before the most recent ban.
