Well, after much research, debate, discussion and talking to you folks here, I decided to get the Springfield XD, 40 S & W. I handled quite a few different ones, and this one fit me the best. Each time I bring it up, it's right where it needs to be. It fits my hand well, it's simple, it's functional and by golly, it even looks good. This is the one I just kept coming back to. I picked it up Saturday morning and shot 40 rounds through her Saturday evening. While I certainly have much practice ahead of me, I started getting the hang of it, overlapping 3 consecutive shots at 15 yards. I shot more this evening than I've ever shot a handgun in my life, total. I just don't shoot them much. And, our buddy bloodcrick even suggested a super pole dancer name for her; Anita Somera. So, I'll introduce her to y'all now.
fun!!! being ex-mil I spent a LOT of time on the handgun range cuz the 1911 was my secondary weapon (I was an M60 gunner in an infantry unit)... loved goin to range on the 45, I'd sit there and pop rounds until my hands/shoulder ached... don't shoot nearly as much as I used to (money's tight these days)... good luck though bro, pistols are a blast
You made the right choice...Very nice weapon. The 40 is the perfect round in my opinion. Right in between a 9mm and 45. Good job! Springfield has a great heritage.
Congrats buddy... didn't realize you were looking (hadn't been on here as much as usual) or I'd have met you somewhere and brought all mine up for you to try out... Sweet gun though... excellent choice. She'll serve you nicely in the years to come!
I have both the Springfield Arms 40 Cal XD and the 45 XD. They're both great guns especially w/tac light and hi-cap mags. You'll really enjoy it!
