Just wanted to try out posting pics and vid for this season and show off my pig from last winter. Dec. 14'
He was a bar. Who ever caught him as a pig cut em and also nipped his wetters so he had nothing to sharpen his cutters with so they just continued to grow. They were actually pushing down on the skin of his lower jaw ready to come out there. I figure that was his last year to be alive. He was passing up my soured corn, didn't even stop to smell it, and was headed straight for the cull tomatoes in a pasture next door. He was down to just a couple molars from the cutters knocking them out and not being used. He was still healthy but don't think he would've lasted any longer. As for the taste. It doesn't get any better for pork. Especially if you get a gilt, bar, or even a young sow. But if you drop a boar, no matter the age, might as well leave it for buzzard bait. It tastes just like he smells, I don't care what you do, we've tried everything.
