I can feel a few drafts tonight that I couldn't notice last night here in the office. House temp is sitting at 81F but I bet my power meter is twirling like a little girl on a sugar high.

did that right after I posted. turned the furnace 100% off for about 10 minutes thinking maybe the exchanger was overheated (what the intranets said to try.) The filter is only 2 weeks old so I'm not tossing it but I'm leaving it out tonight.

Furnace is re-lit, at the ducting maybe 3' from the furnace the pipe is hot to the touch, but still blowing cool out the registers. I closed a couple floor vents off in unused areas so hoping once the ducts get warmed they stop robbing the heat from the forced air. All I can do...for now it's looking like another sleepless night- last night it was the power on and off.

thanks Fletch and everyone else who chimed in.

I would pay a lot for a kerosene heater right about now. My parents used to heat our entire house with 2 of the little buggers when I was a kid and we was po' when dad was laid off.

Main reason I bought one, tried and true source of heat as a kid. Lived in a single wide trailer 70's into the late 80's

    Kerosene price is ridiculous though.

Bought 10 gallons last year that I still have, $4.10 a gallon. Not sure where price is now,but too much for a byproduct.

unfortunately both WalMart and Meijer (only big box stores open 24/7) are both out of stock. Lowes has a couple but don't open until 6am. Guess who will be walking in the door right at open?
    <--- this guy.

I know we're warming up Friday, but I can always use it in my shed or garage. Until then if $150 saves me a busted pipe its worth it.
As I'm typing this I can see my breath. In my house.

I don't care what a person's sexuality is, hetro, homo, transgender I deal with people as a person just be a person do not make your sexuality your identity and we will get along just fine.
