I'm not religious at all, but have always tried to live by the golden rule. Treat others as you would wish to be treated. The world would be a much better place if everyone tried it.

I am assuming here; but this largely boils down to RTL issues. Most people who are anti-abortion see the protection of innocent/unborn life as their utmost duty.

Sure, many politicians who claim to be pro-life do not live up to their promises. However, there is enough information out there nowadays for people to tell when someone is only paying lip service to RTL issues -if -the constituents would only care enough to look for it and hold them accountable to their promises.

FTR, I am not a Christian. But I am fervently pro-life. If forced between a choice between Scumbag #1 who is openly hostile to Life and Scumbag #2 who nominates pro-life judges and advocates the divestment of my tax dollars from organizations which engage in murder of the unborn; well it's pretty easy to pull the lever for Scumbag#2.

Seriously...this is the Democrat party of today. This is the governor of Virginia openly and proudly endorsing the murder of BORN ALIVE babies. This is only 2 minutes long, and worth every second.

I'm not exactly a 1 issue voter but Life is issue 1. Pretty much every other national political issue for me could fall under the "protect the USA from foreign invaders but otherwise leave me the hell alone" umbrella.

My wife is cowgirl and she would not hesitate to punch you for saying that. I was talking about the horses, her horses, the daughters horses. In 26 years that we have had the ranch we have had 2 horses at least. The first two horses we brought with us when we moved in cost $8000.oo there have been 15 other horses since the first two and none of them were as cheap as the first two. Take in consideration the trailer, the tack not including the truck is another $20,000. This does not include the feed, supplements, vet care, ferrier, etc. We have spent over $150,000.00 on horses since we have been married. When you drop that kind of coin on your wife's hobby, I am the only toy she needs.

my overly-simplistic take on the 2 party system:

Republican candidates lie about what they are going to do when they get elected
Democrat candidates lie about what they are not going to do when they get elected*

*the mask is coming off, though

there's some really good social commentary out there on how "climate change" is the Left's religion. They believe in it as a matter of faith; and no amount of arguing or lack of long-term actual data will change their minds. They think you are crazy for even questioning its existence.

I ask 1 simple question when was the climate ever stable? Underwater cities in Europe, submerged civilizations on the entire US coast line as well. I actually had somebody call me an idiot because I said that there was no difference in CO2 discharged from exhaling as there was CO2 from the tailpipe of a vehicle. I was told that the CO2 from a human was from carbon based food that humans consume, my reply was you mean like the carbon based crude oil that vehicles burn? I can deny climate change, (a theory) you can not deny chemistry. (facts)

I am much more concerned with the amount of garbage/pollutants we dump all over the world vs. what elemental gases we expel into the atmosphere.

I spend everyday helping deal with those issues (and lining my pockets) Oh and the gas collection too. Have a webinar tomorrow with some nice people in Nigeria to brief them on how to install their leachate collection system.

This is what I say to people that are insistent on imposing their opinion, no matter if it is political, climate based, religion, or sexual identity about what to be called or bathroom to be used.

It's startling how much alike the progressive left of today is in comparison to the Moral Majority of the right back in the late 70's to the turn of the century. Hyper-critical and vocal against anything and everything that offends their values. Incredibly similar in their defenses of their heterodoxy.

I concede the overall point on methodology but there is a big difference- Progs have completely taken over the Dem Party and it is now the Party of Death. Not one single high-level Dem has come out in opposition to the Virginia Governor's statements or legislation. Nor Cuomo's.

Plenty of room for debate regarding early-term abortion; but late term is evil. Post-term is unequivocally murder. No way around that.

You wouldn't know it, but I grew up in a Union, blue-collar conservative Democrat household. They don't exist anymore*. The Party of Kennedy is dead. He couldn't even get elected dog-catcher in his home state anymore.

*actually, they exist- they just voted for Trump in droves.

There is nothing on this Earth that was not here before, aside from meteors etc.

Humans may have redistributed it in another way, but every molecular component is still here.

The current cold intrusion we are going through in the upper plains and midwest are unprecedented. Yet, only a few of the areas will actually see records broke, the rest will see close encounters from a few years to decades ago.

Here it was all time records low, yet we tied the record set in 2004. We'll break a record low high temp that was also set in 2004.

my furnace is burning (gas), the blower is blowing, but temps in my house keep dropping. I went from 67 to 53, and this is after starting a fire and putting my Heater Buddy on high in the crawlspace.

It's not that much colder than last night...no idea WTF is going on.
