Kill him quickly. If he admits to the killing and many people positively identify him as the shooter, combined with solid probably cause coming from his home computers and the like.....DONE in 60 days or less after trial, done.

IMO,this person is insane. Clearly, his brain does not function properly but in no way should that prevent him from execution.

You may be right, but I don't believe he's really insane. There was too much thought and planning put into this. Still, even if he is insane, you're right when you say that shouldn't prevent him being executed.

I'm a very outspoken proponent of the death penalty, and in cases like this where there are multiple witnesses, rock solid, indisputable evidence and a confession on top of that, the execution should take place immediately after the trial, insane or not. No appeals allowed since there's nothing to appeal. Maybe even adopt a Starship Troopers method of broadcasting the execution on national television at 6:00 pm the day of conviction so other potential murderers can see what's waiting for them should they choose this path.

I've never been able to wrap my mind around the phrase "not guilty by reason of insanity". Bull crap. So he's insane. He's still guilty as hell, and like I said, insane or not, he reaps the consequences of his actions.

i had to do a paper on the death penalty for college last year. i am 100% for the death penalty when someones plans and kills another human not by accident. It takes years for the death penalty to actually happen to a victim. most of the cases dont even pass because there are numerous laws regarding it so he will probably just sit in jail for the rest of his life if i had to guess

The death penalty for this guy should have been served by someone in the theater shooting him in defense of innocent victims. It would have been the best possible outcome once he started shooting. Missing that opportunity, I cannot say he should be put to death. I know I couldn't make that call as a judge or juror. That's just me though.

I agree...the guy obviously has a screw loose....but still deserves that maximum punishment imo

I don't think a sane person would needlessly slaughter a bunch of people like that

Exactly. This guy won't get what he deserves no matter if he is put to death.

Genesis 9:6 tells us " Whoever sheds man's blood, by man's hands his blood shall be shed..." Deuteronomy 17:6 says "By the mouth of two or three witnesses shall he die that is to be slain." Yes I am sure people have been put to death that were innocent. But that doesn't apply in this case. Some may say he was coerced, had a mental break, he was possessed, or was just plain crazy. Be that as it may, he still carried out this HORRIBLE crime. This case lines up with what Scripture teaches. He shed many people's blood and there are more than two or three witnesses here. We claim to be a Bible fearing nation, it should not even be up for discussion.

There should be no questions with this guy ... and if you don't think he is insane, our definitions are totally different ... regardless, sanity should have no bearing on execution .... he should die ...

I'm thinking a broadhead from my Bowtech Guardian would really be appropriate.

Killing him sounds good, but will it make any difference? Most likely not, will it bring any one back to life?I think not. Will it prevent any other nut case from joyously slaughtering others? I'm guessing not. Will it save the state some money? It might, but the automatic appeals that come along with the death sentence will still cost them plenty.
So really, killing him is just a feel good response for some thing we as humans will never fully under stand,"killing", some people are happy with just killing them selves, others find joy from killing loved ones, some find joy in just killing for the sake of killing, its a strange thing we humans have with how we can justify the taking of another humans life, the one thing that we do with no chance what so ever for a "do over".

There's a convicted murderer in Tennessee for mutilating a woman back in 1980......He'll be in prison on death row if and when we have grand children have children.

Strap him in a glass box where he can't move in a public place for open viewing and feed him through a tube. Inside the box play 1960s batman music as loud as possible 24/7/365. Then after about 5 years of that... BZZZZTTTTT!!!!! Throw his body in a landfill!!!

If you think about it in context, here is a case where I feel lethal injection would be justified.

How many times have we heard the term " we missed the signs" or "If we only knew" we could have prevented all of this pain and suffering by so many Innocent victims.
We have not heard the last from this little debacle, he will kill, its just a matter of time, he's been caught before, never punished and his destructive behavior we escalate into more violent assaults and inevitably death.
Remove this one from the gene pool now and the world will be better off .
