Has anyone out there used this product, and if so did it really work or is it just another impressive web site. Macdaddy
Yes, I have tried it. If your asking for opinions, mine is that I didn't like it at all. I think it is a good idea, but a better idea is learning to shoot without torque, which is what I concluded. First off, to put it on your bow, you need to permenantly remove any paint on the front of the handle, which is where the ball bearing mounts glue on to your bow. Secondly, the handle just snaps on to the mount, which I thought was cheap, but it is what it is. The handle is also very large. Bottomline for me is that I've spent more money trying to get my bow back the way it was before I tried that handle, than I spent on the Death Grip itself. My opinion is that I would not recommend the product based on my experience, but I guess it all depends on what your looking for. It just wasn't the right fit for me.
Dearth grip handle Thanks a lot. That's what I thought. So did the owner at archery store where I shop. Just wanted someone who had used it to confirm what I thought. Hope you have a great deer season. Macdaddy
I say this as politely as I can... I think it would just serve you (not necessarily YOU, but everyone) better to learn how to grip a bow properly so as to not induce torque from the start; it's not rocket science.
Just because somebody says they have used this product does not mean that they actually have. Myself and many of my friends have Death Grips on our bows. We all love them. I would like to know what bow the OP had that it cost him over $100.00 to take the grip off and install his original grip. You can say you can hold a bow with no torque but if you believe that you are fooling and cheating yourself. Normally I do not post on forums but I feel very strongly about this product.
No, It is my Fathers product. Like I said anybody can say anything they want on a forum. Try it before you nock it.
I don't believe that I said anything about it. But I guess I was right. BTW people have a right to their own opinion even if you don't like the outcome. If you want you can send me one and I'll do a full review on it and post it every forum that i a member of. I'll also do a video review on it in my youtube channel. How does that sound? I have no thoughts on this item so i would do an un-bias review.
Hey hunt for food, if you don't like people personal opinons, than don't read forums. The guy asked anyone what they thought of the handle, and I told him. Just because you say you love it and all of your friends have it, does that mean we shouldn't believe that either? I happen to have installed the product after stripping the factory finish off my xforce gx, tried it, and didn't like it. I didn't say the product sucked, I said I PERSONALLY didn't like it and wouldn't PERSONALLY recommend it. Not sure if you've looked at bow repainting/dipping prices, but I know of no where that does a professional job for under $100. Therefore, I can't get my bow back to original condition for less than or equal to the cost of the death grip. Get used to the fact that not everyone will like everything that you like, or your father invents. For your info, your dad (if it's really your dad since anyone can say anything they want on a forum and have it be not true) was kind enough to treat me well on the product and return. Also, like headstrong said, don't think anyone including myself ripped on the product. I gave my opinion and said it wasn't a right fit for me. Someone else may like it just fine.
I've had one on and off my Truth 2 several times. I now have it on there but without the swivel part. Doesn't make sense, huh? Make a "no torque" grip into a "torque-able" one? Ok, let's see if I can explain. I bought a DeathGrip because I had not figured out how to hold a bow correrctly. My bow does not need to have the mount glued on--it screws on and off. At first, I thought I liked it--no more torque. And it allowed me to add approx. 1/2" to my bow's draw length, which helped shooting 90M for FITA at my DL and DW. But the one draw back was that the longer I held at full draw, the more the bow "wiggled". Yeah, It was probably me wiggling but the swivel of the grip compounded (no pun intended) the problem. So off it came. BUT, I liked the larger size and more high-wrist position of the grip (like Olympic style recurves). I played with alot of variations of stuff to keep the grip from moving so much, but I couldn't get happy with it. Finally I tried removing the swivel portion and layered velcro over the bow and under the grip. Now I have the grip feel that I like (even though it goes against current archery wisdom that says narrow grips are the only way to go) and it doesn't move. It fits my hand extremely well and I don't torque the bow. So, yes, I have one and I use it. But I don't use it as it was designed. Since it is more comfortable I am more confident with it. It is all personal choice.
dude, It's kind of weird that you would join a forum just to get something started because someone doesn't like your dads product. If that's the way you endorse gear, you need to set down and think about it for a while cause it aint working for you.
Here's a short video about the Death Grip. http://www.bowhunting.com/videos/new-products/the-death-grip_820
