Here's a few pics from our latest outings hunting with my Redtail hawk Moka. So far we're up to 48 rabbits for the season. Still have the whole month of March to hunt with her.

That's so cool! That Hawk looks all business. Is he laid back with you, or does he keep you on your toes? I think he'd make me nervous. lol

Very cool, Dave. Who takes the photos when you're handling the bird?

Matt - I just let whoever is out hunting with me take a pic or two when we get back to the truck.

Thanks a lot guys. I have a blast everytime out hunting with her. I'll be keeping her over the summer and hunting her again next fall and winter. She'll have her red tail then. Can't wait.

Wow... I wanted to do that when I was a youngster. I remember reading book after book about falconry. I even had a pet redtail hawk once that was injured from Hurricane Frederick. He just needed some time to recover and did quite well on meat scraps. I turned him loose after a week or two. That is so very cool my friend... so very cool!

So awesome. You must have some good rabbit areas, that seems like a lot.

I don't think I have killed 48 rabbits in my life! But I can't stand the smell of them for some reason so I don't shoot many. My brother hunts pen raised quail and most of the time he'll have a couple quail caught by hawks before we can hunt them down. Hawks are amazing and very capable killing machines.
