Doe down in OHIO!!! Opening day freezer meat!!! Pretty crazy adventure! Thank the lord for an amazing hunting partner! Will upload pics tomorrow!! 50 more points for death dealers!!
Nice work. Always love hearing that it is recovered and people have meat. Nothing better than inside loin right away.
Finally got everything set up and ready. Pulled cards from two cameras. One had video of the nice 10 point again in daylight. Nothing else real good. Moved the one camera to the new spot I hung stand in picture above. Probably 1-2 miles away. It should be a really good spot. No one has bowhunted it for years. Not much traffic in the buck oats food plot. Beans are starting to be picked in our area. Seems that usually changes patterns up once crops start getting picked.
Cool albino picture. Looks good on other ones too. Washing clothes for Wednesday morning. Going out with my dad. Hoping to get a doe down. Wednesday night I'm hoping for a shot at the 8 point or 10 point. I usually leave that area until the rut to hunt, but I think that is stupid this year with daytime pics. Saving new spot for rut if needed. More than likely will I will need it. I have a feeling I'm going to get a shot at one of those two bucks this week.
Here is most recent video of 10 point being out at shooting light. My stand is directly across from there. I'm going crazy right now waiting. http://vid1286.photobucket.com/albums/a617/scarps23/VIDO0020_zpse4578e3c.mp4
Good night. Saw 3 bucks. Nothing big. Could have shot a young doe at 22 yards. Plenty of time for that on a bigger doe. Hopefully at least. My dad saw a buck I don't have a picture of. He said older buck and weird rack. G2 on one side goes straight back. He didn't come in range. He didn't say whether or not if he would have shot it, but I would guess he would have. Fun day to be out. Hopefully everyone else had some good hunts while out. If not, good luck next time out.
I have been out several times seeing deer on all but nothing big enough to shoot. I want to shoot a doe but it has been so warm that I don't want to take the chance in wasting the meat or having to butcher her before I go to work the next morning. I did finally get a picture of a decent buck again the other night but he is not big enough to shoot at 135 inches. The best time is coming, patience always pays off in the end.
Wasn't going to hunt this weekend, but they changed up the winds for me. As long as that southern variation stays away I'm going to be in the stand. Have an exam this morning, after that I have to hit work for an hour before leaving town. The plan is to get to my property by 3:30. If the field isn't muddy I may drop corn off grab the cameras and leave it alone for the night. I'm tempted to walk in and grab the cameras and hunt until dark. Tonight I'll review the pics coming from my mineral site where they cross the river and my feeder. Most likely I'll start at one of those spots in the morning. I'll hunt all day but may switch stands for the evening. Hopefully be hunting tonight, all tomorrow, and Sunday morning. If nothing good is at either I have a good trick up my sleeve and know exactly which spot I'll be hunting. Things are getting cold here this weekend. Bring on the cold weather and kick the big boys up on their feet!!! Something hits the ground this weekend! Sent from my XT1096 using Tapatalk
Get to do some tracking this afternoon. Buddy shot a doe and can't find it. Says hardly any blood, but complete pass through. Said he hit it right where he wanted to. Heard the doe cough/hack.
