I put out 400# of corn and monster raxx in a few spots around the property before leaving. Planning on going back and getting after them again this weekend.

Seriously only had one buck with droptine on camera before this year. I think we have some of the genetics in our area now. Neighbor had a droptine mounted last year. Never thought I would see something like that. Wednesday I became obsessed.

I did have picture of this buck in September, but couldn't see droptine. Just had the weird brows that follow main beam.

Very lucky to get him to come in.

How was your time off? You get close to any of the bucks you were after or any new ones?

My main target has not been on camera since Nov. 5th. Not sure if he is dead or has ventured off of our farm searching for does. Other than him, 3 bucks that were on my radar have been killed on our lease. I am still running cams (20) hoping that something new or one of my original targets will show up during late season. We have plenty of food plots and with the cold temps lately I have been running cams on a lot of corn. I have passed up on four 130's bucks hoping for something bigger. I've definitely put my time in and still have plenty of time left. Our season ends 2/8/15.
I'll be looking for 50pt freezer fillers this weekend. My finger is mighty itchy :)

That last one has some mass. Hope he shows up again too. Good luck with a doe. You'll probably go out thinking doe and see a giant.

Well.... I've been getting ready to head back and hunt again this weekend. The weather looks a little rainy, so I'm starting to get quite discouraged. I'm trying to remain hopeful... I've got this weekend and the 26-30th. Time to get one on the ground.......

I went to check Out my gun season stand this morning and watched a decent 9 pointer breed a doe. I walked up on them in the wind....wind was in my face. I watched them for 30 minutes before I got to cold to watch anymore. They were 30 yards from my stand :) He wasn't a shooter but certainly promising to know that the bucks are still on the move in my neck of WI.

Keep after them. We aren't going to be far off if we get a few more down. Does help too.

Still debating the stand for the morning. Wind won't be perfect but leaning towards going to the NE corner of my property where most of those pics are. Gonna take the buck decoy out I think.

    Ugh.....

Got out late. Hit the stand 5-10 min before shooting time.

Kicked 2 out of the woods walking to my ladder. Looked one big one small. I hope it was a fawn and doe.

    Forgot rangefinder in my jeep.

Saw a doe and fawn across the field early. Turkey going nuts this am. Didn't stay much longer. Pulled the cam there has 1100+ pics since Sunday at noonish. Switched to feeder.

Turkeys came textbook to me. 18-22 birds. They were being skidish acting like they weren't going to hit the feeder in the woods. Forced a shot. Drew back and held it, they didn't like something but didn't think it was me, started moving away and I tried to sneak an arrow between a tree and limb, not sure what I hit but it shredded a fletching.

Mist turned to rain, got a good 20-30 min shower. Gonna hang tight it is letting up now.

Probably sit until 11 or 12 then scurry back to the jeep and temporarily leave to check these pics on my laptop. Hoping I've been getting a lot of 4-6 movement back there. If I like it I'll snag my camera on the other end to check tonight then go back and sit the stand tonight that cam got pulled at.

If I don't like it I'll sit on the opposite end in the stand I have another cam at. Won't check those pics until after my hunt tonight. So I gotta go with my gut for the evening.

    Really trying to stay optimistic.

Tough to focus on deer when the Greenhead's are circling over me and diving in the river in front of me and the Canada's are dropping into the wheat behind me.

Just had 4 does from west about 45-hr ago. Went down into river. May have smelt me or just didn't want to go to feeder. They were looking. I just saw a few turkeys across the river on bank through a hole in trees. Not sure if coming or going. Don't see now.

Barely any wind but its being funky and swirling. S-SE-E-NE. Not a great stand for that. Probably sit an hour then check pics on this can, get a snack, and get my other cam. Then I'll be back in a tree but don't know where yet.

Woods are quiet except the water dripping down to the grass and leaves and the occasional wood pecker.

Still foggy on other end of field.
