Saw him jump fence so he had bedded again after jumping him last night. It took him 2 times to get over 7 ft fence but he made with relative ease the 2nd time. We watched him walk off hurting im sure just like my ego. See if he shows up back on camera in the next week.
Were you able to see where the hit was when you saw him again? How many hours since you shot him between second time jumping? Was he still bleeding? He still could end up dead. Wild animals are crazy tough. He will probably want to bed down again if his front shoulder was shot. Hard to tell if vitals were hit. 5 inches would think something might be hit. Maybe one lung?
16 + hours from first time we jumped him. He did not go far after the first time. Im sure he did not go far after the 2nd time either but the fact he jumped a high fence is enough for me to know he is okay. He walked off and you could see in the leaves where he walked, he could have been limping badly but at 100 yards it was hard to tell as we saw and then he disappeared over a small ridge. We circled back to try and get in front of him but never saw him again. It would be hard to tell this deer will die or that I wont see him again on camera. You have to know where he is he is pretty safe when im not around Stay tuned for round 2.
Was able to sneak away from work to get an evening sit tonight!!! Heard of some good bucks falling the last couple days!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
3 bucks this morning and 4 more this evening. Nothing big enough to shoot at though. The biggest buck, 3 year old 9 ptr, came to my pond drank some water and left the same way he came. The younger bucks were all busy either chasing or cruising with their noses to the ground. Also saw a doe with her fawns so while some are heating up others are still waiting to cycle through the rigors of the rut.
Dead here tonight. Saw two deer. Very odd for this time of year. Full moons might be messing things up. Be back out Sunday night. Heading to see Garth Brooks tomorrow. Hopefully it's worth missing a Saturday of hunting for this time of year.
Well today sucks. I planned to be in a stand this morning but instead I'm stuck at work. Btw I had some friends go to the GB concert a few months back and thought it was amazing. Seems like you've been hitting it hard the last few weeks. I'd say you deserve a night off for the show.
Last night also sucked here. Saw 0. This morning was good though. Saw 3 spikes and a 6, and had a 150 inch 10 run under my stand after a guy I know, shot over his back, which I didn't know he was gonna be here today. Alas one last day of hunting ahead of me.
No, no shot at all. He came runnin like a raped ape. I merh'd at him 2-3 times but there was no stopping him.
Been shooting ducks and geese all weekend. Deer are all over out here. Saw a 8 point chasing hard and a 6 trailing as well. Saw 2 does tonight. Can't wait to get back this coming weekend. Sent from my Moto X
My buddy was out restocking corn on the property. Have about 1k total pics on 2 cams since I was back last week and hung cameras. Sent from my Moto X
guys im not sure what to think. Saw some decent deer activity in early pre rut stages and haven't seen a deer since. not sure what to think anymore. its really tough on the confidence level. My best friend also shot a 133 inch 8 point yesterday morning at 2 o clock in the after noon. I am only hunting urban areas right now.
Saw a corridor deer seem to be traveling through yesterday. I'm going to hit it this morning. Wish me luck fellas.
