Has anyone hunted In this area for mulies or whitetails? What's the mix between them? Any decent bucks, 120+? stand hunting or stalking work best?

More white tails then mule deer 80/20 ish, 120 is doable for whitetail, thought they have taken a hit the last few years. Tags will be down in the are this year.
Mostly spot an stalk, your new the northern black hills, ceder draws and some pine....

That sounds good. It's pretty open from what I hear. Planning on archery so they are over the counter.

There are muleys around in the hills but mostly whitetails. Most of the muleys seem to live in town or out on the prairie. It might take some scouting to find a pocket where they hangout. SD GFP went to a Whitetail Only tag for most of the rifle hunters. It has payed off, I have seen a few nice muley bucks in last couple years.
