found a nice dead head Friday called the co to get a carcass tag.. said the don't give out tags anymore hafta leave it laying or turn it in..so I called Frankfort this morning and they told me the same thing.. said they destroy them.. so guess we hafta leave the heads laying boy that's going to b hard..hunters loose more rights ever year.. Has anyone else called and got the same info..
I don't see why you can't keep these. I think it is the same in my state but never understood the issue with taking them home?
That's pretty bad. A boone and crockett new world record, "legally", must be left or destroyed. Wow that will piss some people and organizations off.
Looks like to me the hunters and sportsmen loose more and more rights every year.. If every hunter took one year off and not buy and kind of tag that might change some things? stuff like this just kills me!!
If it's on my property I'm keeping it. Now if it was on public land...maybe a different story...still I've never heard of a dnr not issuing a carcass tag...what purpose does it serve to not let someone keep it?
Well after 6 days of trying to get a tag for the deer I found.. got the call last night from local warden saying he had me a tag for it..
I would try to rememeber who you got ahold of that told you they dont issue tags out anymore and at least let your warden know what they said. To me it seems like it was just someone being lazy and not wanting to do their job considering the warden did in fact get you a tag after all. On another note it would have came home with me no questions asked.
