Starting to get some deer moving during daylight. Started around 3:45 CDT when 2 does wandered out of the brush into the edge of an open area. About 30' apart just walking along. Stop and look around and move on. A while later 2 more, same thing. Then two more showed up. The lead doe stopped just short of the clearing and did a real serious look and listen but not my direction. Then followed suit. Later a young buck came out, head up and followed the same path the does took. A while later an older buck came out and walked the same route. These were all about 175 yds from me. All crossed a narrow strip of timber and along the edge of another open area. The buck caught up with the does but showed no interest in them. I watch them meander off along a terrace heading for more strips of timber. Don't appear the rut has really started yet as there was 6 does and 2 bucks and they went about their own business of grazing along.
