Where did you all go so fast? There was this constant chest thumping I could hear from the south but now it seems to have gone quiet. I figured it would take until week 7-8 before the Bears would fade with that schedule. Why so early this year? Look forward to putting a big old "G" on your avatar Dawn.
Huh? Not sure what you want us to say exactly. Our QB is out, two of our best defensive players are out and we're not in a good position here. I'm sure you guys would be in the same boat if Rogers and Mathews were both injured. It's too bad b/c I thought it would have been a really good matchup if our team was healthy. Although nothing would please me more than having McCown throw all over you bunch of hosers.
Lots of Bear fans were thumping there chest the first couple weeks of the season, just like Cutler does when things are going good. When things start to turn Bears fans tend to pout just like Cutler on the bench after a sack. Not all fans but some of the more vocal ones. You know who you are........
Lots of injuries on Sunday, but at least the Bears showed up, that was one heck of an entertaining game.
QB is the #1 most significant injury you can have. So long as Rogers is in the game he'll find a way to get the ball in people's hands. He's one of the best in the game, that's what he does. With Cutler out two or three of our most effective offensive weapons are severely handicapped. McCown just can't make the same throws that Jay can. However if he can manage the game and Forte gets things going from the backfield we still have a chance. Personally, I was never super impressed with the Bears 3-0 start. Sure, it was nice to see but the wins just weren't convincing enough to make me feel like "Yeah, these guys are legit!" I think the last few games have shown where they're really at as a team. Not that it's horrible b/c I think they're a good enough team but may need a few more years to develop the offense and grow into the young linebacking core. Without Jay for 3-4 games I say we finish 8-8 on the season. Pack takes the division but is out in their first playoff game.
The Bears were not looking so good even with Cutler at the wheel. The Packers have: Brian Bulaga out for the season Clay Mathews out for a month or so Finely out for probably his career Randall Cobb out for weeks Yet James Jones out and day to day James Starks out for forever Nick Perry out for who knows how long Jarrett Bush out day to day Brad Jones out for who knows how long Yeah I would say we are hurting pretty bad. We had to play Jermichael Finel at WR last weekend because we had nobody else. And now he is hurt.
This clearly demonstrates the reading comprehension of Packer fans. Justin pointed out that we have some very KEY injuries.....not MORE injuries. As stated, lets see how you boys do with Rogers and Fabio (I mean Mathews) out for at least a month. I'm sure you'd hush right on up too!
You know Mathews IS out for a month right? I am saying injuries are playing a bigger role with the Packers than the Bears right now. It is not like injuries started and all of a sudden the Bears are playing bad. Rodgers going down would be terrible no doubt.
I think the Bear/Packers game will still be closer than people think. If our offense can do even half of what they did against the Redskins, we'll definitely score points against GB's struggling defense. That and containing the run to keep ARod dependant on the passing game will make it interesting, especially if Tillman is in halfway decent shape. I'm definitely not predicting a win at this point but it should still be a game.
1. I agree it will be a close game. 2. The Packers D is not struggling this year. It is much improved from the last few years and is actually carrying the team right now. See the Baltimore Game as a good example. .
Really??? You wanna use the Ravens game as an example of how your defense no longer struggling??? Flacco threw for over 300 yards!!! Luckily, you guys put together a run defense in that game. That's what saved you from losing that one. The Ravens are on a sharp decline overall so I don't think I'd be so quick to use that game to demonstrate a resurgence in your defense. It still needs quite a bit of help.
300 yards in today’s NFL is pretty much average. The D is much improved whether you want to admit it or not.
Packers have had a pretty good run defense. The pass defense has been suspect in the last few years, but they're better this year. Overall the packers this year have lost 3 of their best offensive players. While its not losing a quarterback, Cutler isn't that great in the first place. ESPECIALLY against the Packers.
I thought McCown moved the ball well (passing and running) although it was against a bad Washington defense. If I were a Bear fan I might count the Cutler injury as a blessing. If/when he comes back the front office may think twice about throwing top ten QB money at him after the season. He doesn't fall in that top ten tier.
