Well, I went out Friday and Saturday and did not see even a single deer! Sunday I decided to give goose hunting and duck hunting one last shot before duck season ends on 12-20-2016 "Today". It was a very COLD or should say FREEZING hunt. It was 0 degrees out and with the windchill I would say it was around -14. On the plus side of things we tagged out a 4 man limit on geese. We went in for lunch and then went back out for ducks. We saw thousands of ducks and geese. The ducks were not wanting to finish but then something really crazy started happening. One of the guys dropped a Black Duck. We were so happy for him. About an hour later another flock of ducks came in. We all noticed that there was two black ducks. My buddy to my right missed the first shot and then I smacked the Black Duck. My other buddy got the second one. We dropped both of the Black Ducks out of the flock. For the afternoon hunt we dropped three Black Ducks, 3 Drake Mallards, and one Mottled Hen Duck. To me that was a GREAT day! I killed two geese and a Black Duck. Here are the pictures from the hunt:
Well, my season has come to an end with being mad at myself once again to take out my year. I have not been seeing any deer so I decided to do some goose hunting since my field was loading up with around 5,000 to 10,000 geese. Needless to say the geese flew over to another field and then I went out to take down my trail cams for clean up and replace batteries to put them back out in a week or two. All my deer have been moving at night except for the past two days when I was goose hunting. I missed another chance at this big guy and hope that he makes it to next year. Here are some of the pictures and videos. I am not sure if he would of made it to me anyhow since 6 does came to me at 8:29 am and then he came at 8:35 am. I am sure I would of took another doe and the others would of ran back to him and off the other way. So not sure if it would of played out anyhow but still wish I would of been out there. It is a very tough time enjoying both Bow Season and Waterfowl Season when they both run at the same time. It is just the way my luck has been this year so I am in hopes to change that next year. The other thing is that the daylight pictures are not good either since they are during the week and I watch my granddaughter Monday to Friday's every week. One day she will be with me in the stand I hope. LOL
