Here are the other three that my buddy found. It was his first set and I was more pissed at the tree rats than he was. He was really happy since this was his first set. I just wish it would of not been chewed on for him.

Yesterday 3-17-15 was a good day with finding three nice sheds. One of them the tree rats found first but did not do a lot of damage but enough to make me mad. Here are the sheds that I found to put my total up to 23 sheds:

Now here is the loaded question! Here is a shed that was on someone else's property that I CAN NOT go on. Does this one count too? If so I have 24 sheds then even though I did not pick this one up due to I am not going to trespass!

I'd say it should count! After all, you did find it.

I'd count it...I had plans on shed hunting Cade's Cove in Tennessee the other weekend and wasn't sure if I could keep any of them or not but I was going to add them to my total since like greatwhite said, you did find it. Will that person not let you get it if you ask or is that a sore subject with them?

No Duffyd not that I know of. SheddinVA if that owner had his way he would run me over with his truck. He has had DNR talk to me and they went through my house since he filed false claims that I was poaching. I work for the state and there is nothing worth losing my job so that I can not take care of my family. I invited the DNR Officer in my house and we talked for a while and then I was never contacted again. This guy is mad because he used to trespass on this property then the owner advised him to stay off so he is hating on me since I still have permission. He has tossed nails on the ground where I park my truck and has tried in every way to get me in trouble. It is not worth it. I will not ask nor will I step foot on his property to give him the chance to get me. I hate trespassers myself and will not put myself in that boat. It is either ask or stay off no matter what you see.

I gotcha, I remember you posting last year about the nails so I don't blame you...I wouldn't be surprised if he placed that shed there to try and catch you with the way he sounds.

be nice if the tree rats or something at least flipped it over just to see the size and points. keep an eye on it and see if somebody picks it up. if so I think you might be getting set up like you said.

I'd put a trail camera facing it (from your side of the fence of course) and see if that guy comes back over and over to see if it is still there haha

MN you will my friend! I am just lucky enough to have a few spots that are NON HUNTING and all the deer run there since they know they are safe there. One of my herds is at least 200-300 large! I laugh at a buddy of mine since he has asked for one of the properties for years and was told NO. I asked after some scouting not knowing he had asked the owner and was told yes. I told him how to ask and the owner said NO again due to giving me permission. I am also the only one to go on the property. Sucks since I want to take my kids on there but I have to honor the owners wishes. I will give you all a tip on how to gain permission on some NON HUNTING spots. Here is how I ask: "Hello! My name is John Doe and I am a collector of deer antlers. I would like to walk your property to look for deer antlers if that would be ok. I will not take any vehicle on your property and honor any rules you would like to set down." Leave the word HUNT out or you will get the answer NO right away because to them HUNT means kill. Most of the time you have to go into explaining that deer lose their antlers every year since most NON HUNTERS do not know that. I then call them at the end of the year and thank them and get them a gift card to a local restaurant. That is how you keep good spots like I have. I also take the spots where I hunt some deer sausage and deer slim jims to keep my hunting spot. Trust me it works! I held one hunting spot for 17 years and the whole family was non hunters but since I took care of his property I was able to hunt. He passed away last year and I lost it since the girls don't like deer killed. I am thankful for what I had it for and thankful to the whole family! It was time to move on and I did so. I miss that property but if you don't own you can not complain! Just be thankful for what you had it for.

thats crazy to have so many deer on one property.. I asked my first person this last weekend and was given permission to shed hunt a small peice with a picked corn field. I used your tip to not say the word hunting and it worked! although I didnt find any sheds. Finding non hunting properties is gonna be tough around here! how do you go about finding properties that aren't hunted?

I have a plot book and look for timber on it then I scout by driving by during the late bow season to see where the deer are going and then just go ask. You wont know if not hunted unless owner tells you or you know the property around you well. I have another honey hole that is hunted that I can not hunt but they don't shed hunt so I am allowed to shed hunt the place. Why they don't shed hunt is beyond me but they don't care about it. I am happy since that property has a bunch of big bucks on it. They will only shoot bucks 140 or above so that should tell you something right there. :)

Well, my walk on 3-21-15 was a bit disappointing! I jumped my big herd to see that NONE of them had any antlers. The whole ground has been covered so that means that property is done unless I missed some. I did walk past where that shed was on the other property and it is gone. That owner of the property must of got it. Here are some pictures I took while I was out though. Every time I got in position with no branch's in the way on the owl he would fly off. I followed him for about 15 minutes until he was tired of jumping trees then flew across the river. LOL
