Well, we will see what happens today! I have entered some of my sheds in a shed contest at the Illinois Deer & Turkey Expo. There are a bunch of GREAT sheds there and they all are close in scores. We will see what happens! Here are my sheds that I have entered:

This one scored 83 6/8 by a Pope & Young Scorer!

Well, first off I am 6' 2" 260 lbs! I would say all muscle but then my wife would say my mouth muscles don't count since I am a big joker and crap talker! LOL My sheds did NOT place at all. I was shocked with how many hammers showed up. 3rd place was 3 inchs larger than my shed then after that they were in the 90's. All the sheds that showed up were all dandies and glad to meet a few of the shedders! On a good note my pictures did very well! I took 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in Wildlife, 3rd in People in the Outdoors, and 3rd in Scenic! Here are my pics:

I usually just read this section, but I must say - awesome job. Between your photography and shed hunting skills you have this girl jealous! Congrats!

Thank you all! Pink you have them too! I have been doing this since 1998 and the more I do it the more I like it better than hunting!

Great stuff! I would like you to come and walk some ground with me. So you can teach me how to fins 3 sets in a 30 yard area!

You need to find their bedding area and that is where I find over half of my sheds!

Thanks rsf! I would be happy to hook up with you any time you want. You have a bunch of ground down there you can walk if you get permission. Find some of the NON HUNTING spots and then ask there. Here is a tip on asking on them spots, DO NOT SAY the word HUNT! Just ask with this question "Would you mind if I walk your property looking for deer antlers? I collect them. I will ONLY walk and not have any vehicle on your property." You might have to go into explaining that deer lose their antlers every year but it will be well worth it. This will tell you that everyone does not know that they drop every year. I had a lady that was working the Illinois Deer & Turkey Expo just this past weekend ask me when I was talking to another shed entrant "Why are these called Sheds?" I told her that deer lose their antlers every year and grow new. She had no idea. If you went to the expo sat or sun you would of seen some of my sheds.

I saw every shed there! It was a blast. I have my wife all jazzed up about it. She loves deer antlers! We have them all over the house. Thanks for the great advise, I will be using that soon as this snow melts!
