Data Collection ... % of sightings this season

9 sits, no sightings on 3 of them.

 

Been 8 times, seen nothing three times. Seen nine tonight which was way out of the norm. No shooter bucks tonight, had to stay late to let the last two bucks clear out.

 

11 sits. 10 deer seen. Vision has been limited to about 80 yards tops in these sits. I haven't seen alot of deer in any one sit, but have been seeing deer on a fairly regular basis. I am pretty happy with it.

 

7 AM sits - 12 does/3 bucks (1 buck 3 different times)

3 PM sits - 0 deer

 

2 sits, 2 deer. i am slacking

 

Saw 2 deer so far .... so I am - 4 sits....2 with sightings

 

8 sits 12 sightings, All does and one button buck. Blanked 3 times.

 

10th sit as we speak and a doe n fawn came in

about 10 sits, all with sighting. fewest deer was last week when i only saw 1. the most was 14 the week before but that was when the soy beans were still up

9 bucks - 1 shooter
I was blanked on 3 sits.

 

1st sit: 5 bucks (one shooter) 1 doe
2nd sit: 2 bucks 2 does
3rd sit: 2 does
4th sit: 6 does
5th sit: I'm an idiot! 1 buck

 

Oct 1st morning. Saw 4 does, killed one and was done hunting by 7:30am.
Oct 6th morning. Saw zero deer. (had a coyote at 15 yards tho')
Oct 6th afternoon. Saw zero deer. (but saw three raccoons...woo hoo)
Oct 16th morning. Saw 8 deer. Does and fawns and one small buck (and a turkey!)
Oct 16th afternoon. Saw zero deer.

The IL DNR sent me another Deer Hunter Observation Record survey to fill out. So, I'm keeping track. They even ask how many squirrels I saw. :D

 

I dont have my log book, but I think I am at 12 sits and only 2 that I havent seen deer. It's been a very good year in that regards.

I've also think I've seen at least one buck on 7 of those sits.

again for those that haven't put the amount of times with no sightings, I need that for the graph

 

Here's my update.....1 AM sit without seeing deer

 

2 Sits, 6 deer. 1 blank. Opening morning sat a bean field edge in hope of catching a doe come by later in the morning, knowing full well we likely blew out the deer on the way in. Mainly just wanted to get out there in a spot we didnt care about pressure all that much . That afternoon I sat up in my good spot and saw 2 small bucks, 3 does, and then the buck i was after, which i killed. Been done for the season ever since, but hoping to get out there in the next month or so to kill a doe, but no real rush on that.

I've filmed a lot since then, but don't keep track of sightings/sits. In 2 states, i've probably logged 8-10 sits with 40+ deer sightings, 2-3 sits seeing the big 0 deer.

 

spent 12 days in the field here in Colorado and only saw 3 deer the whole time. Lots of elk but no deer, very unusual.
