Shooting an 83-85 lb bow 29" draw. Any suggestions on building a dangerous game arrow as far as suggested total weight (including broadhead), FOC to shoot for, etc. Looking at using Easton FMJ Dangerous Game 250 spine

I would agree with the FMJ dangerous game. Arrow weight of at least 600. And a solid one piece broadhead.

Please keep in mind I am relatively new to bowhunting, 5 years, and this is not from experience but only based on what I've read.

    Good luck!

Fmj dangerous game and may even want to add some Brass inserts up front for more weight and FOC

You'll need a heavy single-bevel broadhead on the front head.

Heavy as you can shoot effectively look at some of the traditional bow broad heads or maby like the wasps they are a little bit heavier.

Suppose it depends on how big of animal your talking :-) ... Are you talking bear or croc, hippo and buff.... I've known guys to take a micro diameter arrow and then put it inside a larger\standard diameter arrow to get you up in the 700-800gr range for arrow weight... Then tip it with a heavy two blade BH, like a German Kinetics 150/180/210 gr BH.... Probably not a ton of help, but at least maybe some things to search on and look at...

The minimum weight for the arrow should be 9,000 grains. JK but make it heavy

    Let me break it down.
    -finished weight at least 650
    - shoot for around 20 % FOC
    - go with German kinetic broadheads or a heavy single bevel like the grizzly stiks
-try to get a 200 grain broadhead
For your purposes the dangerous game fmj's should do well. Good luck. and what game are you going after?
