Bout time I got to see some footage of this buck. Congrats again Dan.. gotta love Miller... LOL! Got a little glimpse of BIG Rob too. I have his shed here just staring at me.
Thanks Greg! What you didn't get to see, because of editing constraints, was when I got out of the stand to check the arrow. Like I mentioned, it was covered in bright red blood, but we knew the shot was a little low and a little far back, so we decided to give it almost 6 hours. We even filmed talking about it after I got back in the stand. Its one thing I have always preached, its better to wait a little/lot longer than to push it.....but you knew that! :D
Yes, Johnny is a hell of a graet guy and a great friend. I'm looking forward to sitting in the stand and laughing our ass off just as much as the hunting itself. Hopefully Big Rob will be around, he could be Big Scary Rob this fall! Hope you're feeling better....sounds like we'll see you next weekend!

Now that was cool!!! Way to go Dan and congratulation's once again on a great buck. I was fortunate enough to meet the man himself at the Mn Deer Classic, Dan's a great guy and an excellent whitetail hunter I believe. I'd hunt and share a camp with the guy anytime!! Remember me when you get all famous Dan and start rolling In the chi ching. :D
That was really great. It's already been said,but the discussion of shot placement and wait time is something I wish there was more of on "mainstream" shows. Beautiful video to boot . Well done.:D
Thanks for the compliments guys!! Got to love it when it all comes together. Dan is awesome to hunt with, we should put a blooper/joke piece together so you guys can see all the fun we have doing this. Can't wait to lay down some more great footage and a couple of pig whitetails!! Nice job editing JZ!! Had to be a lot of work going through all that footage. I don't know for sure. I have a big group of guys here at camp Nov 1-15, but I may or may not be here. Most likely will be here at least for a little bit, but I may end up doing some duck hunting. I've got a list of divers I want mounted and that would be the perfect time to shoot them. Plus, I'm feeling bad for my lab, he hasn't been on a good duck hunt for a couple years. Then again, I guess it all depends what happens in IL and WI this month. :D
My biggest goal this year is to get Johnny his first video buck down. We have some great properties and a lot of time to do it, so hopefully both of us can tag a buck or two.
