Bummer. I might just be losing the land I acquired last yr. The lady whos land that I snow plow for hunting rights, is a volunteer on a fire dept. where I work pt. Well for some reason she is now out for the part timers'. Raising hell with the board members. So I'm not sure what I going to do, except for one thing. Go get my stand off her property this weekend. don't know why this change of heart towards me , but I'm kinda in a quandry. One things for sure, I won't sell my soul to the  for the sake of hunting land. It sux cuz that land had some real good potential. I took 2 deer off there this yr. and I was the only one hunting it. guess easy come, easy go.
Hank chat her up and find out how she feels I bet it will all workout. Make it clear it has nothing to do with you.
I agree with peak. Go ask. Her desire to rid the FD of part-timers may have nothing to do with your plowing/hunting reciprocation. Leave your feelings about the fire dept. at home. This is about a hunt for work relationship. If you carry a chip on your shoulder about the FD she may sense that and not be willing to continue your deal
I'm losing my honey hole of 6 years due to foreclosure sometime in the next few months. I still have a great farm in Brown and Pope county but nothing solid that is close by yet. Lots of prospects but nothing I am pumped about so I feel your pain Hank.
I won't go into a lot of the details, but that I'm a supervisor and make decisions that affect the volly's and pt's. I'll have to step lightly in what is said, because she has sued the dept. recently, so everyone is nervous around her. I may ask, but it will have to be in front of a witness to keep me out of any misunderstandings she may create. Sad thing is all last yr I backed her up, with people that were critical of her. But I was warned that she would turn on me one day.
Dang man... that sucks. Maybe she'll have a change of heart or something Good luck finding a new place!
Well got my stand off the property today. Still don't know where I stand with this situation. Today I talked to her, & she acted normal. Just don't know what to expect until next meeting in March.
One more bummer, turkey scrape the heck out the leaves right in the same section of woods that my stand was in. Maybe, just maybe I can get in there for a spring turkey hunt.
