Chris you talk of raising the birds got me to wondering how did I have the time and energy to get up and feed animals then get ready and go to work? Back when I heated with wood too. Dang I have gotten old and soft.
Today I was up and drinking my coffee by 5: 45 had birds out fed, watered and the sold chicks crated up by 8 showered dressed ,water jugs filled then new owner picked up his birds. Out the door to get dog food milk and such before getting car washed. I also went around getting chick sale signs. Ran into grandsons for a quick visit at a local store. Got home unloaded, did laundry, made lunch and changed clothes . Oh long chat with daughter that called and a no way to Alieas Stafanic money begger ...10 mins of various ways to say no. Then said No! She's running in congress when we wanted her as Gov. . I won't pay to get screwed...he hung up. It is now just 12:05. Days just getting started
I met new propane company site person today had a good chat. She was not impressed with the tank getting moved. Valve leaking, rust everywhere. The tank itself was in bad shape I. Told her the tanks smelled for years and everytime I complained they said was heat causing it. Gas expansion caused the smell. No she swid you won't be smelling gas from our tank. I told her in 30 yrs they have not maintained the tank other than saying here's a gal of paint you paint it. I have to laugh they left a message today " are you re-upping our contract. I'm telling hubby he should give them 10 days to calculate our refund for unused gas and pick up their tank in that order. Non compliance and we'll charge a daily rentalover space its taking up in yard. That or we'll be forced to concider it abandoned then move it to camp.
Sota, I was in the full time ministry for several years. I always pondered why many churches still started in the middle of the morning, from 10-11 AM. Here's what I formulated: the country was 80% rural for decades. The family got up, milked the cow, gathered eggs, slopped the hogs, ate breakfast, dressed in their Sunday-go-meetin' clothes, hitched up the horses and went to church which might be several miles away.
Have you ever thought to yourself “Whatever brought that thought into my mind and why think it at this moment?” Today’s thought was remembering the dime matinees I used to go to every Saturday afternoon. All westerns back then. Tim Holt, Roy Roger’s, Lone Ranger and the like. Then I remembered Tim Holt’s side kick was Chito Jose Gonzalez Bustamante Rafferty. Who the hell would remember that name after about 70 years. And I can’t even remember what I had for dinner yesterday.
I have had a theory on this for years. I have spent hours in the car with my kids....best time to have teaching chats with kids. There are many many reasons to strive to be the best person you can be. This applies not just to others but for yourself as well. See God gave you many great things in making us and memory is at the top of that list. But he added a payment in sort to that. You can choose to make great memories or bad ones. You will make or experience both, your goal is to make and situate your life to making far nicer memories than bad ones. His payment? Well as you age the the closer you get to meeting God those memories will pop up in your quiet moments. The closer to your times end, the more things long, long forgotten will fill your quiet times to ponder. What you want is peaceful, happy moments to fill your quiet times. You do not want to have to ponder regrets and bad choices. I've seen this in so many elder folks, but my theory solidified itself in the alzheimers and dementia patients for they lose the present, but linger in their pasts.
My late MIL had the beginnings of Alzheimer's. She could remember everyone in her first grade class but couldn't remember what she had for breakfast. Sadly, I'm finding it a struggle to remember some things or people's names.
My mother in law has advantaged alzheimer's, once she remembers my name she can remember every time she has been disappointed in me. Seems like a joke but it is true.
OK I have to ponder this. The Cartel boat bombings. What impact is dumping all those drugs in the ocean doing to the wild life. Plus is there any sort of residual effect on fishing catches. That said, I don't know maybe incineration of the entire boat and contents would be best, but still then it's air and water....hhhmmm
